Tri Sigma Foundation

Tri Sigma Foundation

Since 1992, the Foundation has funded nearly $2 million in scholarships and leadership programming, and provided nearly $3 million in grant funding to support causes aligning with Tri Sigma's philanthropic focus, Sigma Serves Children. Serving causes greater than oneself is a cornerstone of our values—and the Tri Sigma Foundation enables members to make an even greater impact on the world. The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, and gifts are tax deductible in the United States to the fullest extent allowable by law.

Scholarships

Tri Sigma Foundation provides merit-based and needs-based scholarships to both graduate and undergraduate members of Tri Sigma. Any member can apply, and scholarships range from $500 to $5,000, depending on the amount of funds available. Annual scholarship applications are due January 31 each year.

Leadership & Character Development

Tri Sigma provides the opportunity for members to gain the skill sets needed to thrive as members, empower others, realize individual potential, and lead with confidence and character. This includes experiences that will prepare members to be successful in life after college, enhance their leadership skills, and become confident, resilient people.

Sigma Serves Children

Since 1951, Tri Sigma has dedicated itself to serving children’s health initiatives. Our first national philanthropic partner, the Robbie Page Memorial Fund, began by funding research and vaccine trials to combat polio. After polio was eradicated, our mission shifted toward funding emotional support for hospitalized children known as "play therapy." This cutting-edge treatment helps children better understand their illnesses and cope with the treatments they must undergo.

In 2016, Tri Sigma welcomed the March of Dimes as our national philanthropic partner, enabling members to broaden their support and help as many children as possible. From advocacy and raising awareness in our communities for the March of Dimes to donating toys to a local children’s hospital, each new chapter creates and implements a signature event within their first year.

Alongside financial grants made possible by generous donors to the Tri Sigma Foundation, Sigmas work to ensure children have a fighting chance for bright, healthy futures.

The Tri Sigma Foundation will remain a philanthropic priority for our members.
